Inspired by the USS Monitor, the Union Ship that fought in the 1862 “Battle of the Ironclads” on the waters where the James River meets the Chesapeake Bay. The design takes its shape from the bow and contour of the hull, crafted for the shallow waters of Hampton Roads. Our Ironclad is finished in natural hand rubbed tung oil or stained to your specifications and can be made from any available hardwood. This special Tantalus was created to celebrate our friends at Ironclad Distillery in Newport News, Virginia. The Ironclad is designed to showcase the 375ml bottle of Ironclad Distillery's “Small Batch” Bourbon.
The Tantalus Signature Coin is made of cast metal mounted on the top of the adjusting T-handle and underneath the bottle base. The coin is our unique calling card with our logo on one side and our website (tantalusrex.com) on the reverse. You will find an extra coin included for sharing with interested friends.
Coins with military or school insignia are very popular. We can procure a coin of your choice or mount one you already own.
